About the Journal

Journal of Empirical Qur’anic Studies (JEQS) is an academic journal dedicated to advancing original research and critical analysis in Qur’anic studies. The journal provides a scholarly platform for studies on Quranic Sciences (Ulum al-Quran), Qur’anic Exegesis (Tafsir), Qur’anic Manuscripts, Qur’anic Readings (Qira’at), and the scientific miracles of the Quran. JEQS also welcomes research on the Living Qur’an, digital Qur’an and platform-mediated reception, artificial intelligence and Al-Qur’an, comparative and transcultural Qur’anic reception, computational and corpus-based Qur’anic studies, and the relationship between the Quran and modern applied sciences. By encouraging interdisciplinary inquiry, JEQS supports rigorous engagement with contemporary issues, manuscript studies, review articles, and emerging methods in Qur’anic scholarship.
