About the Journal

Journal of Indonesian Philanthropy and Development Studies (JIPDeS) is a scientific journal published regularly by Branda Media Nusantara collaborate KH. Ahmad Muzakki Syah Islamic University, Jember – East Java, Indonesia, focusing on: Economics, Civil Society, Cultural, Anthropology, Religious and Islamic Studies, Philanthropy or Humanitarian Issues, Sustainable Development Policy.

JIPDeS serves as an academic platform that examines the dynamics of "social generosity and humanitarian issues", between grassroots philanthropy practices and scientific discourse within the framework of sustainable development policy. It publishes twice a year: in June and December.

JIPDeS's vision and mission is to become a world-class reference center for philanthropy studies in the Southeast Asian region. This provides a platform for academics, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to publish innovative research or findings that combine sociological, cultural, religious, and economic aspects within the civil society sector as a driving force for change.

JIPDeS's research focuses on humanitarian issues and development studies, with the following areas:

  1. Civil Society Philanthropy and Human Rights: Focusing on grassroots philanthropy movements to strengthen advocacy for civil rights and social justice for vulnerable groups.
  2. Islamic Philanthropy and Sharia Economics: Analyzing the potential of Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah, and Waqf instruments within a macroeconomic framework to create equitable prosperity based on Islamic spiritual and ethical values.
  3. Digital Philanthropy and Technological Innovation; encompassing the transformation of donation behavior through crowdfunding platforms and the use of blockchain technology for transparency in the nonprofit sector.
  4. Corporate Philanthropy and Social Investment; examining the paradigm shift in corporate social responsibility from merely charitable actions to sustainable strategic investment (impact investing) to create shared value.
  5. Public Policy Philanthropy and Sustainable Development; functioning to evaluate government regulations and ensure the real contribution of the civil society sector to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets in Indonesia.
