Journal of Law and Islamic Jurisprudence Development (JOLID) is an open-access scientific journal that aims to be the main platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and policy makers to disseminate research results, studies, and literature reviews on the development of law and Islamic jurisprudence in facing ever-changing global challenges., with a publication frequency of twice in a year, namely: June and December.
JOLID aims to serve as an intellectual platform for exploring the dynamics of civil law, criminal law, economic law, Islamic law, and jurisprudence development, adapting to global social, economic, cyber, and technological changes. The journal focuses on publishing original research that integrates classical and modern legal theories and sharia principles to formulate solutions to various contemporary legal challenges, including strengthening public policy. Through an interdisciplinary approach, JOLID is committed to bridging the gap between classical legal texts and positive legal practice to achieve substantial legal justice.
JOLID's vision is to become an internationally reputable journal in the renewal of law thought and jurisprudence for the benefit of all. To realize this vision, its missions include: establishing professional and accountable scientific journal governance in accordance with global indexing standards, encouraging cross-border research collaboration focused on legal innovation, and disseminating critical ideas on the development of progressive law and jurisprudence oriented towards sustainable development. Thus, JOLID plays an active role as a catalyst in the development of a legal framework that is relevant to the needs of modern society.
Focus of JOLID studies is on: Law, with the following SCOPE:
Civil and Criminal Law: This area focuses on an in-depth study of legal norms governing relationships between individuals and sanctions for violations of the public interest. The review focuses on the dynamics of contract law, civil liability, and reforms to the criminal justice system in facing the challenges of modern crime. This field aims to evaluate the effectiveness of law enforcement in protecting human rights and ensuring justice for society at large.
Economic Law Development: Field focuses on in-depth analysis of the regulatory dynamics governing trade, services, and finance within the framework of the conventional economic system. Its scope includes the transformation of rules in the banking, capital markets, and insurance sectors, as well as modern investment instruments that continue to adapt to global market changes. Furthermore, this study examines how legal policies respond to financial technology (fintech) innovation and business competition to create a competitive, transparent economic climate that provides legal certainty for business actors.
Transformation of Constitutional Law and Governance: This area examines changes in the state structure, the state system, and the dynamics of public administration. It focuses on the relationship between state institutions, the legislative process, regional autonomy, and the transformation of government policies to achieve good governance. This field explores how constitutional law functions as an instrument of development and a safeguard of democratic principles in times of rapid social change.
Development of Islamic Economic Law: This area examines the transformation of regulations and financial transaction practices based on Sharia principles. The review includes the development of Sharia capital market instruments, Islamic banking, Islamic philanthropy such as zakat and waqf, and the governance of the halal industry. This area also examines how Islamic economic law adapts to innovations in financial technology and contributes to national economic stability and social welfare.
Islamic Law and Contemporary Jurisprudence: This field explores the application of Islamic teachings to address various new issues emerging in the modern era through a contextual jurisprudential (fiqh) approach. Its scope includes contemporary ijtihad on issues ranging from family and social issues, to medical ethics and the environment. The primary focus is on synchronizing the noble values of Islamic law with the realities of today's life, in order to create relevant legal solutions for the community amidst cultural diversity and the demands of the times.
