About the Journal

BRANDA: Journal of Community Service and Empowerment is a peer-reviewed journal published by Branda Media Nusantara in collaboration with the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), STAI Al Yasini Pasuruan, Indonesia. BRANDA focuses on research and practical outcomes at the intersection of academic innovation, social intervention, and community transformation. It publishes empirical field studies, participatory action research, case evaluations, and conceptual models that examine how community engagement and service-learning initiatives empower local populations.

Community service and empowerment hold a fundamental position in sustainable social, educational, and economic development. Higher education institutions and development organizations generate significant impact through direct field engagements, yet dedicated, scientifically rigorous literature evaluating these interventions remains essential. While many academic journals cover social sciences broadly, few place community-driven methodologies and participatory frameworks at the absolute center of inquiry. BRANDA addresses this gap directly.

The journal covers a wide range of topics in community engagement. These include participatory action research (PAR), community-based socio-economic development, educational and literacy empowerment, technology transfer in rural and urban settings, public health and social welfare initiatives, environmental sustainability, local wisdom preservation, and institutional capacity building. All submitted manuscripts must engage specifically with real-world community service and empowerment contexts.

BRANDA accepts original community service articles, field action reports, comprehensive case studies, systematic literature reviews, and policy impact evaluations. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. The editorial team maintains high standards for ethical community oversight, methodological grounding, and tangible social relevance.

BRANDA publishes two issues per year (June and December). The journal targets an international readership, including academic researchers, community service practitioners, social fieldworkers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), development specialists, and policymakers at educational and social institutions worldwide.

Branda Media Nusantara publishes BRANDA as an open-access journal. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription barriers, supporting the widest possible dissemination and real-world application of community service research globally.
