About the Journal

The Journal of Educational Technology and Learning Arabic (JETLA) is a peer-reviewed international journal published by Branda Nusantara. JETLA focuses on research at the intersection of educational technology and Arabic language education. It publishes empirical studies, systematic reviews, conceptual papers, and mixed-methods research that examine how digital tools and technology-driven approaches transform Arabic language teaching and learning.

Arabic language education occupies a distinctive position in the global language learning landscape. It serves millions of learners across religious, academic, and professional contexts. Yet dedicated technology-focused research for Arabic remains scarce. Most technology-enhanced language learning journals cover Arabic only incidentally. Meanwhile, Arabic language journals rarely place technology at the center of inquiry. JETLA addresses this directly.

The journal covers a wide range of topics. These include computer-assisted Arabic language learning, AI-powered tools for Arabic text and grammar, mobile learning applications, gamification in Arabic classrooms, adaptive learning systems, virtual and augmented reality environments, corpus-based vocabulary instruction, and technology-integrated teacher professional development. All research must engage specifically with Arabic language education contexts.

JETLA accepts original research articles, systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, theoretical papers, replication studies, and brief classroom-based reports. All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review. The editorial team holds high standards for methodological rigor, theoretical grounding, and practical relevance.

JETLA publishes two issues per year. The journal targets an international readership, including Arabic language educators, SLA researchers, educational technologists, curriculum developers, computational linguists, and education policy makers at Islamic and Arabic education institutions worldwide.

Beranda Nusantara publishes JETLA as an open-access journal. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription barriers, supporting the widest possible dissemination of Arabic language education research globally.
